Texas Revolution Add Two Allen High School Players

Plano, TX: The Texas Revolution announced today, the signing of two former players of the Allen High School Eagles, QB Nathan Dick and K Brett Peddicord.
Nathan Dick joins the Revolution fresh off of a prolific career at the University of Central Arkansas that saw him lead the Bears to their first ever FCS Playoff berth following the 2011 season. During his senior season in 2011, Dick threw for 3,359 yards, 32 touchdowns and only nine interceptions while being named to the All-Southland Conference First Team, the Fabulous Fifty FCS All-America Team and was a finalist for the 2012 Arkansas Star of Tomorrow award. In 2010, Dick was named to the All-Southland Conference second team following a season that saw him throw for 2,589 yards and 12 touchdowns while also running for 212 yards and three scores. Dick transferred to UCA following two seasons at the University of Arkansas where he started two games, passing for 454 yards and four touchdowns. While at Allen High School Dick threw for 3,622 yards with 23 touchdowns and only three interceptions while also running for 577 yards and 11 touchdowns during his senior season. For his career at UCA Dick is in the top-five in school history for passing yards per game, completion percentage, total offensive yards per game, completions and efficiency. Dick was signed to the Dallas Cowboys training camp roster following the 2012 NFL Draft.
Additionally, Brett Peddicord signed with the Revolution following two seasons at Georgia Southern University and his senior season at East Texas Baptist University. The former walk-on at GSU was able to become a preseason All-American at ETBU despite only kicking in high school for one season. Peddicord only tried out for the AHS football team because of a bet from his soccer teammates that the goalie couldn't make the open spot on the roster. Following his career at ETBU Peddicord traveled to Poland to kick for the Warsaw Eagles professional football team. During the season Peddicord had the league's best punt average at 43.5 yards per punt, the league's longest punt at 69 yards, most field goals in a season (11), longest field goal (53 yards) and most points kicking (86). Following the season he was named the PLFA's best kicker for 2012.
"I'm thrilled that we were able to able a couple of local guys with some real talent like Nathan and Brett," said Revolution General Manager Tim Brown. "We have made it our goal to surround this team with local people, and the fact that we were able to bring guys into the fold from our backyard makes the whole team that much stronger."
Team continues to bring in talent for 2013 season
In addition to Dick and Peddicord, the Revolution continue to stockpile talent from around the area and throughout the country. Joining Revolution RB Ramonce Taylor from the University of Texas is RB Vondrell McGee and DL Brian Ellis. The Revolution also signed another player from ETBU, DB Anquainius Frazier, who appeared, along with Ellis, with the Wranglers last season. From outside of Texas the Revolution have brought in former Ohio State Buckeyes DB E.J. Underwood and OL Zach Slagle, Michigan State DB Enrique Shaw and Florida State DB Michael Ray Garvin, who has spent time with both the Detroit Lions and Arizona Cardinals. The team has also added players with IFL experience, including signing former Sioux Falls Storm OL Zac Tubbs and former Wichita Wild players DB Scooter Rogers and QB Marcus Jackson.
The team expects to introduce the new head coach of the Revolution to the media and fans next month. Season tickets are now on sale and start as low as $99 each with the season kicking off around March 1st.
