Texas Hurricanes News Release
Houston, TX - Monday, March 30, 2009. The owners of the Texas Pirates Football Group are featured in a local business journal in Houston.
In the 10th Anniversary issue of D-MARS business journal dated March 15 - April 15, 2009, co-owners Gary R. Howard, Sr., James Germany, and DeJaun "DJ" Henry are one of the featured local businesses in their 28th edition. In this edition, publisher, Keith J. Davis, Sr., interviewed the owners because of their successful minority-owned sports management business.
"We wanted to provide a first-class family affordable sports experience," said CEO and founder DeJaun Henry. "I have been involved in sports professionally for over 15 years in some form or fashion. We thought that it was time to bring indoor football back to the Houston area. We also pride ourselves in being the first Houston minority-owned professional indoor football franchise. Community service is a big part of our organization which has helped mold our partnerships with our sponsors."
Davis had heard about the Texas Pirates Football organization and was excited that professional indoor football was coming back to the greater Houston area. The Pirates' owners were humbled and honored to be featured in the journal because D-MARS is respected in the minority community, as well as the business community. The organization had a following in the Houston area, but it was a low key giant. Various communities within Houston knew about the organization and now that they are a part of the Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL) and a professional football team, local media is hearing the buzz.
James Germany stated that, "I've been around the Houston area for a long time and have always been a fan of D-MARS business journal. I was elated to learn of the Keith Davis' interest in the organization and his desire to interview us."
