Texas Hurricanes News Release

HOUSTON (October 16, 2009) --Texas Hurricanes owner Terry Williams reluctantly announced today (October 16, 2009) that his Southern Indoor Football League team will not return to College Station, Tex. for the 2010 season.

The Hurricanes played their final three games there after Williams acquired the Texas Pirates and relocated them from Houston.

"We could not obtain a game venue that would be beneficial to our players for a game experience and to the management for long-term viability,'' Williams said.

"I'm very appreciative of those who made our three-game stay possible - we had enthusiastic fan support, media coverage and even sponsorship for the brief time we were there.

"College Station is a fantastic area for football,'' Williams added. "I hope to see indoor football back there one day. ''

Williams and the Hurricanes are finalizing their new location and will announce it once all the pieces are in place.

"I'm eager to begin work on our 2010 season,'' Williams said. "We endured a challenging inaugural year - we're not going to be a 1-9 team again.''

The SIFL completed its inaugural season in July.
