Texas PG Jerome Rogers signs with Finland

Dallas, TX - Texas Tycoons point guard Jerome Rogers (5'10''-G-81, college: N.Texas) has signed with Team Componeta Karkkila (FIN-KORISLIIGA) in the top Finnish league for the 07/08 season. Rogers who averaged 19.1ppg, 2.3rpg, 4.6apg, 1.8SPG, 47.8%FG, 41.3%3PFG in leading Texas to the ABA Championship game last season. Texas head coach Chris Terrell said "We're really happy for Jerome and know that he is going to have a terrific first season in Europe this year. As much as we wanted to bring him back, we realize a big part of the minor leagues is the development of talent for the next level and Finland will be the next stop in that journey for Jerome."

Texas had a great turn-out for their first tryout camp this season and could have as many as five players from that tryout in Tycoons uniforms this year. Texas, which had all 12 of their players with ties to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex last season, featured 4 of those players on a team that was Division and Confernce Champions as well as ABA Finalists coming from last season's tryouts. "We have an incredible formula for success here" stated Texas General Manager Mike Senters . "The fans love to watch their home town guys compete for the championship and to follow up on that success by having players receiving NBA workouts or signing in Europe shows the type of benefit wearing a Texas uniform has on these guys careers."

Texas looks to field a team of the best local talent in the State this year and expects nothing less than a return trip to the league's final game. Texas will have their 2nd Rookie and Free Agent Camp on September 15th at the DeSoto Town Center in DeSoto, Texas. The team is putting on the tryout for only $75 with early registration and asks that the best of the best register early because space is limited.
