Tetrault And Bedard Named To All-IHL Teams

PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Icehawks of the International Hockey League are proud to announce that Daniel Tetrault and Mickael Bedard have earned spots on the league's All-star teams. Tetrault has been named as one of the league's First-Team All-Stars while Bedard has been named to the All-Rookie team. League head coaches, general managers and members of the media voted on the teams.

Tetrault, a 30-year-old native of La Broquerie, Manitoba had one of the most successful seasons of his 10-year professional career, tallying nine goals and 36 assists in 65 games this year. Tetrault led all IHL defensemen in assists, and finished just two points shy of the league lead despite playing ten fewer games than leader Matt Krug of the Muskegon Lumberjacks.

The defenseman missed nine games in March and April before returning from injury with five points on a goal and four assists in Port Huron's final two games of the regular season. Tetrault is in his second season with the Icehawks.

Bedard, a 22-year-old Montreal native has been the most decorated rookie in the IHL this season with a plethora of awards. The 2009-10 Rookie of the Year led all IHL rookies in points (73), goals (35), assists (38) and plus-minus rating (+34) and tied teammate Brandon Naurato for the lead in power play goals (11).

The Icehawks quest for the Turner Cup begins tonight when they take on the Fort Wayne Komets in a rematch of the 2008 Turner Cup Finals. Port Huron's first home game is set for Saturday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m. A free pre-game tailgate party will take place at 5:30 p.m. in front of McMorran Arena.

The first 1000 fans at Saturday's game will receive a playoff rally towel courtesy of University of Michigan-Flint, and fans will have the chance for a photo opportunity with Maverick, a live Augur hawk.

Best Seats In The House: McMillin's Furniture and the Port Huron Icehawks will hold a raffle during Saturday's game to give fans a chance to win the La-Z-Boy recliners winners of the "Best Seats of the Game" promotion have enjoyed this season. Entrants must be present to win.
