Kokomo Jackrabbits News Release
TERRE HAUTE, IND. - Brian Hobbie's incredible pitching run continued at the expense of the Kokomo Jackrabbits Wednesday, July 6.
The Prospect League's leader in earned run average was as advertised on Bob Warn Field inside Memorial Stadium, limiting the Gold and Brown to just five hits while striking out three in a complete-game 6-0 victory. The University of Missouri's Ryan Lee went step-for-step with his opponent, striking out six Rex over five innings but a four-run outburst occurring in the third and fourth frames combined jump-started the home side.
Kokomo's offense was topped by two-baggers off the bats of third baseman Ryan Hutchinson of Illinois State University and catcher Jake Garbarino of Northwestern University. The Jackrabbits, still tied atop the PL's Eastern Division at 4-2 in the second half (19-17 overall), wrap up a three-game road trip Thursday, July 7, facing off against the Hannibal Cavemen. First pitch is 7:35 p.m.
