River City Rascals News Release
After only 50 games in the Frontier League, third-baseman Taylor Ard is now back in affiliated baseball. Ard joined River City this spring after two seasons with the Seattle Mariners organization. Through 50 games with the Rascals, Ard hit .338 with 9 home runs and 33 RBI. Aside from the major offensive categories, Ard managed 24 Extra-Base Hits, nine Stolen Bases (in only ten attempts), and 17 walks.
Playing for Brook in River City, Taylor was able to move back to his natural position, third- base-a position that he didn't get to play very often with the Mariners. During his first stretch as a full-time hot-corner defender, Ard put forth a very respectable .931 Fielding Percentage.
Ard's River City Contract has been officially purchased by the Arizona Diamondbacks and the entire Rascals coaching staff and front office wish him the best back in affiliated baseball.
Taylor is now the fourth Rascal to be signed by a Major League Organization this season.
