Tattoo Promotion This Friday
January 3, 2007 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Fargo-Moorhead Jets News Release
Fargo (ND) Move over P.T. Barnum, and may the ghost of Bill Veeck break out a pencil to take notes, the Fargo-Moorhead Jets signature promotion for the 2006-2007 season is coming up on Friday, and it's impact will last a lifetime on at least a few fans.
The FM Jets game against the Southern Minnesota Express on Friday night at the Carlson Coliseum at 7:35pm has been deemed "Tattoo the Express" night with a simple premise. Any fan with a tattoo will receive 50% off a general admission ticket. However, there is an extra kicker to the promotion in that, anyone who gets the FM Jets' logo tattooed anywhere on their body prior to game time will receive a FREE LIFETIME pass to all FM Jets home games.
Logo tattoos must be presented at the January 5th game, or they won't be eligible for the free lifetime pass.
Already, three fans have had the FM Jets' logo tattooed on their body with dozens of more inquiries. Though many of those who called, eventually backed out, it's a promotion that has already been a huge success.
"We were looking for a promotion that would get people in town to pull a double-take and have a laugh and this promotion did just that" said FM Jets' Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Scott Montesano. "Since we announced the promotion in the fall, its something everyone brings up to us when we go around town and that is the type of impact we'd love out of all of our promotions."
The fans with the logo tattoo will be honored during a second intermission ceremony where they will receive their lifetime passes.
"In a town with many entertainment options, our marketing can't be as conservative as most others, and honestly our fans get the benefit of experiencing some crazy ideas" added Montesano.
In addition to it being an exciting promotional night, Friday's game is the start of an important series between the top two teams in the North American Hockey League's Central Division. The first place FM Jets (45pts) currently have a five-point lead over the defending division champion Southern Minnesota Express (40pts).
The teams will also play Saturday night at 7:05pm at the Carlson Coliseum, with that night being deemed "Hockey Bingo Night" as all fans will have the chance to play bingo during the game.
The series concludes on Sunday afternoon at 5:05pm in Owatonna, MN.
The FM Jets Junior A Hockey Club is in its fourth season as members of the North American Hockey League. The NAHL is the nation's largest Junior A hockey league and is now in its 31st year of operation. For more information, visit fmjets.com or call (701) 235-2354.
Jets home games are played at the John E. Carlson Coliseum in Fargo, ND. All games are broadcasted on Today's Hot New Country 103.9 THE TRUCK and audiosportsonline.com.
