Roanoke Valley Vipers News Release

ROANOKE, VA - The Roanoke Valley Vipers, member of the United Hockey League (UHL), announced today that they have reacquired left wing Josh Tataryn, who began the season in a Roanoke uniform but was traded to the Elmira Jackals in exchange for forward Charlie Elezi in late December.

The Jackals placed Tataryn on waivers on Tuesday, and the Vipers claimed his rights the following day. Tataryn, 23, had 15 points (11G, 4A) in 28 games with the Vipers prior to the trade. For the Jackals, the 6-foot, 175-pound winger had seven points (5G, 2A) in 26 games.

Head Coach Daniel Berthiaume said Tataryn is eager to get back on the ice in a Roanoke uniform, and that he is equally looking forward to having him back. Tataryn is expected to join the team in Roanoke on Sunday as the Vipers host the Danbury Trashers, and will likely be sporting the number four jersey, as Matt Elich is now wearing the number 27 jersey that Tataryn wore during his first stint as a Viper.

Come out to the Roanoke Civic Center to welcome Josh back to the Valley, and greet all of the other new Vipers players on Sunday, March 19th at 5:05p.m. as David Beauregard returns to Roanoke in a Danbury Trashers uniform!
