Tampa Bay Lightning Reassign Defenseman Slater Koekkoek to Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned defenseman Slater Koekkoek to the Syracuse Crunch today, Lightning vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced.

Koekkoek, 6-foot-2, 193 pounds, has skated in 29 games with the Lightning this season, recording four assists. He has played in 41 career NHL games, notching five assists and 12 penalty minutes.

The 23-year-old native of Winchester, Ontario has appeared in 38 games with the Crunch this season, recording two goals and 11 points. He has skated in 170 career AHL contests and recorded 12 goals with 52 points.

Koekkoek was drafted by Tampa Bay in the first round, 10th overall, at the 2012 NHL Draft.
