TULSA - The Tulsa Talons of the arenafootball2 (af2) has officially been assigned University of Tulsa WR/DB, Darrell Wimberly and former 2005 WR/DB, James Sadler.

WR/DB Darrell Wimberly (6'0, 212 lbs, Rookie) joins the Talons as a three-year letterman and two-year starter for the University of Tulsa. Wimberly finished his career with 33 receptions for 401 yards, two touchdowns and 49 tackles. In 2002, Wimberly was named the WAC's Defensive Player of the Week for his five-tackle and two-interception performance against UTEP. Wimberly is a 2000 All-State Union High School graduate.

"It is great for the Talons to get Darrell from the University of Tulsa," said Tulsa Talons Head Coach David Alexander. "We think Darrell will make an impact on both sides of the ball."

WR/DB James Sadler (6'0, 205 lbs, 1-year) joins the Talons for a second season. Sadler joined the Talons late in the season last year. In three games, Sadler recorded 2 receptions for 18 yards, rushed the ball twice for 10 yards and totaled 13.0 tackles (11 solo, 4 assisted). Sadler attended Southwestern Oklahoma State. In 2004, Sadler recorded 20 catches for 529 yards, 4 touchdowns, 1 punt return for 5 yards offensively and 19 tackles (11 solo), 3 breakups and 1 forced fumble in 10 games. Sadler received Defensive Player of the year, Freshman of the year and player of the week (week 3) honors in his college experience. Prior to Southwestern Oklahoma State, Sadler attended Delta Junior College.

"We are happy to have James back with us again this season. James is an extremely athletic player with all the tools to be able to play in this league. I expect James to compete for a couple of different positions for us this season," stated Tulsa Talons Offensive Coordinator Mitch Allner.
