Talons point guard sets assist record

November 22, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Gallup Outlaws News Release

Gallup, MM. The ABA Gallup Talons defeated the New Mexico Style for its second straight win on Saturday night, 126-114, improving its record to 2-0 and a share of first place. The Talons moved to 2-0 behind several superb performances by guards Will Funn and Malcolm Conner and forwards Bernard McIntosh and Louis Richardson. But it was Funn, who was named ABA Co-player of the Week, who had an ABA season high 24 assists to go along with his 8 points and 7 rebounds.

"I was just excited to get the win and that my players could finish off my passes," said Funn. Funn, who had several highlight passes Saturday night, including a highlight lob to Brandon Mason in the first quarter, is now averaging a league high 17 assists. The Talons took control of the game with 4 minutes left in the fourth quarter before a capacity (and very loud) crowd. The Talons next home game is November 25th and 26th at Santa Fe and their next home game will be against Texas on Nov 27th. If you are interested in tickets, go to the Gallup Herald office or call the Talons at 722 2080 or visit www.abalive.com.
