Talk Like a Pirate Day

Brevard County Manatees News Release

Aarrr, me lily-livered, chum-swillin' friends! Let's not forget that tomorrow, Tuesday, September 19th is National Talk Like a Pirate Day again, ye Manatee Mateys. Last season we asked ye to come claim ye game used bats from the fourth floor of the stadium while disrespectin' our Manatees Wench that sits at ye front desk.

This season the treats are on you, Manatees fans. All you pirates that hit the 4th deck tomorrow with trinkets and goodies (like Krispy Kreme doughnuts) for the crew will receive two tickets to a game of yer choice in 2007. And since the Manatees crew has again been bludgeoned with requests from ye landlubbin' bilge monkies and yer useless sea-hags, we'll give ya' yer chance to claim some free baseball booty on this holiest of holy Pirate Days. All Manatees pirates that stop by the 4th deck will be entered into a drawing for tomorrow's grand prize: a team autograped baseball and bat.

Now, chart ye course again for Space Coast Stadium after nine bells, ya' son of a sea cow, and when you get to the bilge take the lift to the Cap'n's Quarters on the poop deck on the 4th floor...When you step off the lift look straight at the Manatee Maiden (our receptionist) and yell, "It is I, (your pirate name of the day), and I come bearing gifts for the crew, ye Manatee wench!"

Then hand over your trinkets and our wench will then place said passes into your greasy-spirited, dastardly hookhands. Ye then will complete a drawing card for the top prize, you scurvy mutt, and after leaving it in the box, ye be then gettin' back on the lift and with a tip of your hat to said wench, lower your boots back to to the bilge and begone with your nasty self. Now, go and heed this advice or you'll curse the day you were born.

If ye be smart, lads, ye be leavin' glazed doughunts for the wench...she be the keeper of the prizes and may determine yer fate and possibly the winner, so treat her well!
