Indiana Ice News Release

It was a tale of two teams wearing the same uniform as an Indiana Ice squad that previously surrendered three power play goals limited Team USA U17 to a single tally as the Ice earn their first victory of the season in Ann Arbor, 4-1.

Jacob Pritchard shined in the contest, netting three points (2G, A) to cap a five-point (3G, 2A) weekend while Austin Kosack and Brian Pinho also potted goals in the effort. Samu Perhonen's 24 save performance earned him his first USHL win.

Little patience was shown as Indy wanted vengeance for the previous night's defeat. 83 seconds of game play passed before a tic-tac-toe contest between Pritchard and Patrick Newell fed a scoring opportunity for Kosack to bury his first USHL goal.

From there, Pritchard continued to showcase his offensive talents, recording a pair of goals that would give him three lamp lighters in just two nights.

His first goal of the game came when a USA advance stalled deep in the Indy defensive zone. Aidan Muir scooped up a loose puck near the faceoff circle to feed Pritchard down the blue line.

The Macomb, MI native sped up the boards, beating USA netminder Michael Lackey with an odd-angle shot from the goal line to give Indy the lead for the remaining 50 minutes of play.

Pritchard's second goal came off a well-constructed three-on-one rush. Pinho chipped the puck out from in front of Perhonen to an advancing Michael Booth. Booth fed the puck to Pritchard, who's backhanded shot beat Lackey for the 3-1 score.

A bit of miscommunication and quick reflexes finalized the score at 4-1 as a loose puck and open net provided an ideal scoring situation for Pinho's second goal in as many nights.

Indy looks to carry the momentum from tonight's win as their next contest will be home at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Saturday, October 12 against the Youngstown Phantoms. The puck is set to drop at 7:05 pm.
