T-Birds Set to Open Training Camp

KENT, WA August 21, 2008 - The Seattle Thunderbirds open Training Camp for the 2008-09 season on Friday, August 22, at Kent Valley Ice Centre.

The T-Birds staff is looking forward to the start of an exciting season. The Hockey News added to this excitement on Wednesday, August 20, when they released their rankings of WHL logos. The T-Birds logo was ranked first overall of all the logos in the WHL. The Hockey News said "the T-Birds logo stands the test of time."

To see the ranking of WHL logos click here. T-Birds Training Camp opens with Rookie Camp on Friday, August 22. Rookie Camp will continue on Saturday, August 23.

Rookie Camp will feature two ice sessions each day. Each ice session will consist of a scrimmage.

The scrimmages on Friday are from 9:45am to 12:15 p.m. and 5:45pm to 8:15pm. The scrimmages on Saturday are from 9:45am to 12:15 and 6pm to 8:30pm

T-Birds Main Camp starts on Monday, August 25, and goes until Wednesday, August 27.

Main Camp will consist of two ice sessions each day. The morning session will be a practice and the evening session will be a scrimmage.

All ice sessions at both Rookie Camp and Main Camp are open to the public. The T-Birds encourage all fans to come out to Kent Valley Ice Centre to see the players competing for spots on the 2008-09 T-Birds team.

The T-Birds only home preseason game will be held at Kent Valley Ice Centre on Saturday, September 13, at 7 p.m. against the Portland Winter Hawks.
