Switchbacks Now Tied for 1st

St. Louis, MO - The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC win on the road and are now tied for first place in the USL's Western Conference!

"It was a tremendous team effort by the players," said Switchbacks FC Head Coach Steve Trittschuh. "I could not be more proud of these guys for a great result on the road."

Switchbacks FC took on St. Louis FC Friday night, and came off with a 1-0 win. That win gives Switchbacks FC (8-5-0) 24 points in league play.

Switchbacks FC dominated possession and shots on goal through the first half. Then in the 15th minute, Rony Argueta (#8) capitalized on that possession and fired a shot into the back of the net from 20 yards out.

"It was a great win tonight, boys," said Switchbacks FC's Rony Argueta. "We got an early goal and held the lead wonderfully, battling to the end. Let's keep this winning streak rolling!"

The second half took a turn as St. Louis FC came out swinging and battled hard to come back. But some late, incredible saves by the Switchbacks defense and goalkeeper Samir Badr (#23) kept St. Louis FC off the board and secured the Switchbacks FC win.

"We continue to believe that every single guy is important to the success of this team and we continue to show our togetherness as a group," said Switchbacks FC Goalkeeper Samir Badr. "We hope to keep this momentum going."

Switchbacks FC have been on a winning streak, winning the last four USL matches.

The club will be back at home on Wednesday, June 24th to take on the OC Blues FC.
