San Antonio, TX - The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC fell 3-0 to San Antonio FC at Toyota Field on Saturday night.
San Antonio FC got on the board first when Nathan played a cross on the ground from the right side of the box that caused an own goal from Michael Edwards in the 5th minute.
The Switchbacks created a couple of chances for Thomas Amang in the first half but he put each shot just wide of the right post.
San Antonio opened up the second half quickly by adding a second goal as Jose Gallegos clipped the ball over the onrushing Sean Melvin. Ten minutes later, Andre Lewis hit a powerful shot that forced Matt Cardone into making a high save.
In the 65th minute, Hadji Barry nearly had the record-breaking goal from a free kick on the edge of the box but his shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out for a goal kick.
The hosts added a third goal after a cross was bouncing around inside the six-yard box and Kortne Ford headed the ball over the goal line from close range.
The Switchbacks now turn their head to the 2021 USL Championship Playoffs, Presented by TwinSpires where they will play on the road against either San Diego Loyal or Orange County SC next weekend depending on results later tonight.
