Louisiana Swashbucklers News Release

(Lake Charles, La.) The Louisiana Swashbucklers will try their hand at softball, while at the same time, help the special needs community.

The Bucs will participate in the Iowa "Buddy Ball" softball league on Friday, May 18th at the Iowa City Park's Main Field. The game will begin at 5:00pm.

Buddy Ball is a two inning game, in which the Bucs will assist the special needs players at the plate while they hit, run the bases if needed, and also assist in the field.

"It's going to be a big thrill for our players to play with the Swashbucklers", said Buddy Ball League Manager Joanne Meaux. "Our players are often limited in what they can do on the field, so this really is a big deal to the Buddy Ball league."

The Bucs players are equally excited to play in this game! Several players told me how important it is to help our community whenever possible. I got the impression that participating in events like these help the players feel good about themselves...
