Louisiana Swashbucklers News Release
(Lake Charles, La.) Over the first three games of the young season, the Bucs injury list has looked more like a M*A*S*H UNIT than a football roster, until now.
The Swashbucklers announced today that both QB Freddie Harrison and DE DeMario Dixon are probable for Saturday night's game versus the Columbus Lions in Georgia.
Harrison threw for 156 yards in the first half against the Defending Champion Albany Panthers in the last game, only to suffer a bruised sternum on the first drive of the third quarter-he did not return. Without his experience in the pocket, the offense was not nearly as sharp. The Bucs feel with a healthy Harrison this Saturday, the picture is bright against the Lions.
The other key player who was missing in Albany was DE DeMario Dixon. The former North Texas standout; who is a pass rush specialist, had to sit out the game with a broken finger. Dixon has been cleared to go on Saturday, and will wear a protective finger "boot" on the injured finger. The Bucs expect to get more pressure this week on the opposing QB, and Dixon will play a big part in that.
The Bucs have also played various games without league standout Eric Jackson DB, and former Auburn linebacker Tray Blackmon. In addition, Bucs DB Damien Huren has been playing all season with a cast on his wrist due to a break.
Saturday's game will be the first time the Swashbucklers have had a "True" starting lineup on the field since the opening game victory on March 17th.
