Swarm Hosts Rochester Knighthawks Saturday Night

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Minnesota Swarm will host the Rochester Knighthawks Saturday night at 7:00 PM at Xcel Energy Center. Minnesota is 1-1 on the season following a 13-10 win at Philadelphia last Saturday. The club opened the season with a 15-10 loss to Philadelphia at home on January 6. Saturday's game will mark the second of back-to-back contests for the Swarm who play at Calgary tonight. Rochester is also 1-1 and tied for third place in the East Division with Minnesota. The Knighthawks defeated the Toronto Rock 14-9 last Saturday and dropped a 12-11 decision at Colorado on January 7.

Minnesota won two of three contests against Rochester last season, including a 12-11 decision in the club's first-ever NLL game at Blue Cross Arena on January 1, 2005. Goaltender Matt Disher started all three contests.

3/26, Rochester 20 vs. Minnesota 11: Mike Accursi (3-7=10), Shawn Williams (3-5=8) lead Rochester in scoring

Newcomer Kasey Beirnes leads the Swarm in scoring with 11 points (5-6=11) this season and Jamie Taylor is second with 10 points (2-8=10). Nick Patterson earned the win in net last week for Minnesota stopping 45 of 55 shots faced.

Shawn Williams leads Rochester in scoring with 13 points (6-7=13) and John Grant is second with 12 points (8-4=12). Pat O'Toole is 1-1 with a 10.53 goals against average (GAA) and a .796 save percentage in two starts.

The first 5,000 fans in attendance to Saturday's game will receive a free Swarm t-shirt. In addition, the St. John's University club lacrosse team will play the University of Minnesota club lacrosse team at 3:45 PM on the Xcel Energy Center turf prior to the Swarm game.
