Swarm Hosts Colorado In NLL's 1000th Game

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The National Lacrosse League's (NLL) Minnesota Swarm will host the Colorado Mammoth Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. at Xcel Energy Center. The game marks the NLL's 1000th regular season game since the league's inception in 1987. Minnesota heads into the weekend with a 6-5 record holding onto the third spot in the East Division leading Philadelphia by one game with five to play. The Colorado Mammoth has already clinched a playoff berth leading the Western Division with a 10-2 record.

Ryan Ward leads Minnesota with 61 points and 43 assists and Dean Hill heads the team with 21 goals. Ryan Cousins leads team defensemen in scoring and ranks sixth in the NLL with 17 points (6-11=17) and is second on the team with 74 loose balls collected. Nick Patterson leads the team's goalies with 10 games played and a record of 5-4. Patterson ranks eighth in the league with an 11.80 goals against average (GAA) and ninth with a .765 save percentage.

Colorado's only two losses have come on the road where they have averaged 12.33 goals per game. Gavin Prout tallying 65 points and 46 assists leads the Mammoth. Dan Carey follows closely behind with 64 points and leads the team with 31 goals and Josh Simms has picked up a team-high 104 loose balls. Gee Nash has a perfect 8-0 record in net for Colorado and ranks second in the league posting a .786 save percentage and fourth with an 11.01 GAA.

Fans can arrive early for the 93X pre-game party at the Iron Range Grill beginning at 5:00 p.m. to catch the first NCAA Final Four game. All fans in attendance for Saturday's contest, presented by Grand Rios, Water Park of America and Drive 105, will receive a Swarm Frisbee.

Minnesota will take to the road for the next three games and return home on Saturday, April 14 to finish the regular season at Xcel Energy Center for a 7:00 p.m. contest against the Arizona Sting.
