Georgia Swarm News Release
DULUTH, GA. - The Georgia Swarm kicked off the evening with a burst of energy but ultimately fell short against the Tide, resulting in a 11-14 defeat on Saturday, January 27th, 2024.
The Swarm took an early lead with a rapid goal by Bryan Cole just 45 seconds into the game. However, Jeff Teat from the opposing team consistently responded, securing 4 goals and 2 assists throughout the night.
As the game progressed into the 2nd quarter, the Swarm fought back fiercely, scoring four consecutive goals. Adam Wiedemann soared with a take-off goal, Zach Miller executed a sliding move, Lyle Thompson rocketed a goal, and Liam Brynes smoothly rolled in another. This surge put the Swarm ahead 7-6. Despite their efforts, the Tide answered with three consecutive goals, reclaiming the lead. Lyle Thompson, assisted by Bryan Cole and Brendan Bomberry, managed to keep the Swarm close, finishing the half with a score of 8-9 in favor of the New York Riptide.
The second half unfolded as a relatively quiet affair. The Riptide swiftly scored three consecutive goals, preventing the Swarm from regaining the lead. The Swarm's defense struggled to thwart the opposition's advances, and goalies Brett Dobson and Angus Goodleaf took turns defending the net.
Looking ahead, the Swarm will return home on Friday, February 2, 2024, at 7:30 PM for a rematch against the Vancouver Warriors (2-5) during Casino Night, presented by Harrah's Cherokee Casino
