SwampDogs Walk-Off 3-2 over the Marlins

Morehead City, N.C. The Morehead City Marlins went toe to toe with the Fayetteville SwampDogs, before eventually dropping the game by a score of 3-2 in ten innings at J.P. Riddle Stadium in Fayetteville, NC on Saturday night.

The SwampDogs jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first on a Mitchell Kranson RBI single. The Marlins struck right back on a Dylan Brown RBI triple. However, the SwampDogs struck back taking a 2-1 lead in the ballgame.

Morehead City then tied the ballgame when Brown chopped a ground ball to second, allowing Andrew LaMura to score from third. Neither team could plate a run in the remaining regulation innings, but it would be the SwampDogs who struck first in extra innings. With two outs in the home half of the tenth, Kranson roped a walk-off single to right field giving Fayetteville the 3-2 victory in the ballgame.

Cody Dix picked up the win for the SwampDogs, while Cole Billingsley suffered the loss for the Marlins. Morehead City is off on Sunday, but returns home on Monday night to face the Petersburg Generals. First pitch from Big Rock Stadium is slated for 7:05 PM.
