FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Fayetteville SwampDogs, in their second doubleheader in three days were swept by the Wilmington Sharks on Monday night at Buck Hardee Field, losing game one 7-1, and the second game 7-3.

The SwampDogs got on the board early in the first game, scoring when Sky Overton (Soph./Furman) doubled to lead off the game, then came home on a Jimmy Faul (Jr./Louisville) single two batters later.

Alex Siddle (Jr./Southeast Missouri) competed, but struggled at times, only completing 2.1 innings, allowing two runs on three hits, while walking four and striking out one.

In game two, the SwampDogs got on the board early again, when Faul drove in Branden Boggetto (Jr./Southeast Missouri) with a single. The Dogs would plate another run in the second inning, when Ki-Jana Madden (Fr./Spartanburg Methodist) doubled against Alex Hamilton, then Overton singled to draw him home.

The Sharks scored two in the bottom of the second against Ross Gardner (Fr./East Carolina) to tie the score up. They would later break the tie with two runs in the bottom of the fourth off of Kent Williams (Jr./Indiana).

Faul, who had a big day at the plate, would drive in Mitch Roman (Jr./Wright State) with a fifth-inning single to cut the deficit to 4-3.

Not content with a one run lead, the Sharks tacked on three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to open up a 7-3 lead, where the score would stay.

Williams got the loss, falling to 1-3, while Kevin Boswick recorded the win for the Sharks, improving to 1-2.
