SwampDogs Fall to Salamanders
July 3, 2015 - Coastal Plain League (Coastal Plain)
Fayetteville SwampDogs News Release
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Fayetteville SwampDogs dropped a tough contest to the Holly Springs Salamanders 6-2 Saturday night at J.P. Riddle Stadium.
Things got started quickly for the Salamanders, as they scored four runs in the first inning off of Sam Caldwell (Fr./Florence Darlington Tech). They would plate additional tallies in the second and third innings, to open up a 6-0 lead.
The SwampDogs would fight back, getting a run in the fourth and a run in the fifth inning, and but were unable to muster any more offense than that.
Alex Siddle (Jr./Southeast Missouri) was stellar in relief for the SwampDogs, tossing six innings allowing only a run on four hits as he kept the score under wraps.
Caldwell got the loss for the SwampDogs, falling to 0-1 on the year, while Wayne Wages got the win for Holly Springs.
The SwampDogs (13-18) hit the road to take on the Wilmington Sharks tomorrow night, before returning home on Monday, July 6th.
