August 1, 2015 - Coastal Plain League (Coastal Plain)
Fayetteville SwampDogs News Release
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Fayetteville SwampDogs fell to the Edenton Steamers 9-2 Saturday night at J.P. Riddle Stadium.
The Steamers took the lead in the first inning against Will Bice (Fr./Kennesaw State) and wouldn't look back from there.
In the fourth inning the SwampDogs mounted a rally against Steamer starter Matt Festa, but two runs was all they could muster on back-to-back RBI singles from Mitch Roman (Jr./Wright State) and Austin Upshaw (Fr./Kennesaw State).
Festa threw eight innings for the Steamers, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out four and not issuing a walk while getting the win to improve to 4-3. Bice got the loss for the SwampDogs to fall to 0-4.
The SwampDogs (18-34) finish out their season schedule with road games at the Wilson Tobs Sunday and the Morehead City Marlins on Monday.
