
Surging Stampede Prepare For Weekend Battle At Indiana

The Sioux Falls Stampede are starting preparations for a weekend road trip to Indianapolis, IN where they will face the Indiana Ice, Friday and Saturday night. Game times for the KELO-AM broadcast are 6:05 PM locally each night.
The Stampede fell to Indiana 2-1 on Friday in which they out-shot the Ice, 41-28, but were shutdown by Ice netminder Matt Hoyle. The Ice enter the weekend in first place in the East Division with a 34-8-5 record and just one point back of Omaha for the Anderson Cup points race with two games in hand. The Ice have two of the top three scorers in the USHL in John Kemp and Gregory Squires, who have 58 and 57 points respectively.
The Stampede enter the week 25-17-6 on the year and in a three-way tie for second place in the West Division.
The Stampede went 2-1-0 last week, topping Sioux City 7-3 on Wednesday, falling 2-1 to Indiana on Friday and topping Tri-City 6-2 last night.
Jake Hansen had two goals and an assist while Jack Connolly added a goal and three assists for the Herd who have won seven of their last nine games. Connolly leads the USHL in scoring with 59 points (19g, 40a) in 46 games this season.
DINEEN TALLIES 100TH
CAREER USHL POINT!
Stampede forward Nick Dineen tallied his 100th career USHL point Sunday night, assisting on the Herd's third goal. He becomes just the seventh player in Stampede franchise history to reach 100 points.
The Omaha, NE native is third on the team in scoring with 45 points (21g, 24a), including four game-winning goals.
Dineen was a member of the Stampede's Anderson Cup and Clark Cup Championship teams. He tallied 17 points in 53 games his first season (2005-06) and posted 38 points while appearing in all 60 games last season.
Dineen, who holds the record for most career games played, was named to the West Division All-Star Team in February and will attend Colorado College next season.

The Stampede are just nine points away from clinching a playoff spot for the 2008 Clark Cup Playoffs. The Stampede can clinch a playoff berth with any combination of Stampede wins and Tri-City losses.
The Herd have won four straight games on the road entering this weekend's tilt at Indiana.
The Stampede were 27-17-4 last year at this time .
Jack Connolly has recorded at least one point in eight of his last 10 games, posting 16 points (3g, 13a) during that time.
After his two goals Sunday, Jake Hansen ranks second in the USHL in goals scored with 28. He has seven points in his last five games (3g, 4a).
Linemate Robbie Vrolyk has six points (3g, 3a) in his last three games.
Head Coach Kevin Hartzell is now just three wins shy of 300 for his USHL coaching career!
The Stampede have successfully killed off 19 of their last 20 penalties and their penalty kill now ranks 7th in the league at 83.21% while their powerplay is 4th in the league at 18.02%.
SNOOTER TAKES HOME SIOUX NATION PET CLINIC WEINER DOG RACE!
"Snooter" took home the first ever Sioux Nation Pet Clinic weiner dog race Friday night at the Sioux Falls Arena. 20 long dogs took the ice for the chance to be crowned champion, but Snooter blew them away with his explosive speed right off the bat.
"Snooter" took home a championship plaque, a free round of shots and exam from Sioux Nation Pet Clinic as well as a free giant bag of I-Vet Dog Food and a beautiful gift basic from Bark Avenue.
