Surge Win in Stunning OT Fashion After 2 Goal Comeback

Biloxi, MS - Surge Left Wing, Lucas LaBelle, slapped the third unanswered goal for the Surge in sudden death overtime, giving the Surge their second straight comeback, overtime victory.

Matt Viola and Garrett Vermeerserch got the puck rolling for Peoria scoring first in the opening period. With an assist from Joe Tolles and Justin MacDonald, Jordan Peddle put the first Surge goal in net before the end of the first period.

After a scoreless second, "Big" Bill Baker tied the game with a power play goal, giving Justin MacDonald his second assist of the game, and Jordan Peddle his first. After a shootout win on the road against Pensacola last night, Lucas LaBelle ended gave Mississippi their second overtime win in two days.

Goaltender Mathieu Dugas picked up the win saving 32 of 34, while Kyle Rank saved 26 of 29. Mississippi really shined on their penalty kill, stopping Peoria on all 7 power plays.

The Surge look to make it three in a row at home tomorrow against Pensacola.
