Mississippi Surge News Release

Biloxi, MS - The Mississippi Surge has signed Denfenseman Brandon Greenside for the upcoming 2013-2014 season. The 5-foot-11, 200 pound London, Ontario native comes from a winning tradition and looks to continue it in Biloxi.

Playing for the U. of Western Ontario the past three years, Greenside managed to score 7 goals and 16 assists for a total of 23 points in 52 games. Brandon's tough presence on the ice helped his team to 2 CIS National Championship appearances.

Greenside expressed his excitement in joining the Mississippi Surge organization this upcoming season. "Coach Bes has given me the opportunity to get my first taste of professional hockey," said Greenside. "I couldn't be more thrilled than to call Biloxi home for the season while helping the team win a league championship."

"We have a good Offensive Defenseman in Brandon coming out of Western University which happened to be one of the top teams in the CIS for the past 3 seasons," said Coach Bes. "He's looking to eat up some big minutes on the Surge blue line including on our special teams play. Brandon wants to make a big contribution to the team both on the ice and in the community."
