Mississippi Surge News Release
The Mississippi Surge has added an aggressive forward to their roster for the 2013-14 season. Officially signing with the Surge, is now former Huntsville Havoc, Right Winger Chapen Leblond.
The 6-foot-1, 205 pound LeBlond scored 7 goals and recorded 9 assists in just 39 games for the Havoc last season. With a plus/minus of four (+4), Chapen also created a physical presence on the ice.
"I'm super excited to be playing on the gulf coast this season with the Surge," said LeBlond. "They have great fans, an awesome rink and playing with Anthony (Collins) again should be an exciting opportunity. I am thankful for the opportunity Coach Bes has given me to play there and be part of a championship season."
Head Coach Jeff Bes seemed very happy to have made this specific player signing official. "We want to be a team that's tough to play against every night," said Coach Bes. "Chapen not only brings a physical presence on the ice, but we feel that he can also contribute to us scoring more goals this season. I believe he (Chapen) will become an instant fan favorite."
