San Diego Surf News Release
San Diego - Pro basketball brings the Los Angeles Slam to San Diego to play the San Diego Surf this Saturday at 8pm. The Surf are 2 and 2 against the Slam this season. Although the Slam are ranked 13th nationwide overall in the American Basketball Association (ABA) and the Surf are ranked 21st as of February 1st in the ABA Power Rankings, the Surf are up for the challenge.
Sunday's game between the two teams was close through the whole game. The Slam kept pounding the ball down low inside to Tony Farmer where he was dominant inside. Although John Clark stepped up with a spectacular offense and defense, the Surf was missing their point guard resulting in lots of turnovers by the Surf. Coach Mason plans to adjust offense and defense to match Slam's game strategy this Saturday. The Surf welcomes 3 new players, Bam Webster, Mezron Evans, and Tommy Ryan.
Catch the face-off this Saturday February 6th at 8pm when Los Angeles Slam return to battle the San Diego Surf and bragging rights to their record between them. San Diego Surf fans may get 2 for 1 tickets before Saturday by, emailing their name to: Admin@SDSurfHoops.com.
The San Diego Surf will play all future home games in the new beautiful state-of-the-art facility, Hourglass Arena at Miramar College, 10440 Black Mountain Road, San Diego, CA. 92126. Mira Mesa's community brings the close-to-home address for local professional basketball. This is low cost family entertainment with ticket prices only $5 - $10.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
