San Diego Surf Dawgs News Release
SAN DIEGO - The Military All-Stars will pay a visit to Tony Gwynn Stadium Friday night to face the 2005 Golden Baseball League Champion San Diego Surf Dawgs in an exhibition game. The exhibition game will be the only one played in the friendly confines of the home stadium.
The Military All-Stars will come into San Diego on a hot streak, having won their last nine games (through May 24) with the most recent victory coming over the GBL's Yuma Scorpions on Wednesday, May 24 by a score of 14-12. The All-Stars are in the middle of their Golden Baseball League swing, facing the Fullerton Flyers today at 12:05 p.m.
The Surf Dawgs are also on the road today; as part of their spring training they travel to Yuma for an 11:05 scrimmage game with the Yuma Scorpions. The game vs. the Military will serve as a good evaluator for manager Terry Kennedy who must shorten his roster to 22 by May 31. Earlier today, the Golden Baseball League announced a decrease in the maximum team roster size from 23 to 22 players.
Great seats are still available for this exhibition game and can be purchased by calling the Surf Dawgs at (619) 282-4487, online at sdsurfdawgs.com, or at the Tony Gwynn Stadium box office the day of the game. Military members can buy two-for-one tickets to the game with proper identification.
