SuperLiga 2009 Semifinals Set for July 15 at Gillette Stadium

NEW YORK (Tuesday, June 30, 2009) - The SuperLiga 2009 semifinals have been set with the conclusion of the first round games last Sunday. The semifinals of the annual tournament will be played on Wednesday, July 15 as a doubleheader in Boston, beginning at 7 pm ET. Given the tournament's semifinal matchups, the grand finale of the tournament will feature a Major League Soccer team hosting a Mexican League club.
While the current SuperLiga title holders, the New England Revolution, have moved on to the semifinal round, in search of defending their title, this edition will mark the first semifinal participation by the Chicago Fire and Tigres UANL. Santos Laguna is the fourth semifinalist and one of two Mexican clubs left representing Mexico's First Division. The "laguneros" participated in the first round of the 2008 edition.
