Ann Arbor, MI – The US National Team Development Program Under-17 Team fell to the NAHL North Division leading Soo Kewadin Casino Indians, 3-2, in overtime. The U-17 Team earned a point in the standings (a regulation tie) moving them into a third place tied with the Youngstown PHANTOMS.

Saugus, MA native Jason Lawrence got the U-17 squad on the board as he notched his 16th goal of the season with just :49 left in the first period. Playing the period to the complete end the US fired the puck into right corner of their attacking zone where a hard charging Ryan Stoa (Bloomington, MN) scooped it up and fed it to Lawrence who knocked it past Soo goaltender Derek McIntyre.

The Soo countered with two goals in the second session as NAHL Leading point getter Logan Bittle and Robbie Nowinski scored within 1:10 of each other.

Peter Mueller (Bloomington, MN) got the game even at two with his 11th score of the season at the 5:20 mark of the final third period. John Kemp (Arcadia, CA) earned his 19th assist of on the play while Chris Cahill (North Andover, MA) recorded his 15th helper on the game-tying goal.

In the OT session Bittle broke into the US defensive zone uncontested, swooped left to right in front of the US goal tucking a shot past a valiant US netminder Billy Blase (Santa Monica, CA). Blase-recorded 25 saves, including 16 in the second period, helping the US earn a point against the Soo.
