Worcester Bravehearts News Release
PITTSFIELD, MA - The Pittsfield Suns ended the Bravehearts four-game winning streak on Sunday night, pulling out a 4-2 victory at Wahcona Park
Starting pitcher for the Bravehearts Tyler Nielsen (Maine) walked the first four batters of the game, ultimately walking in Pittsfield Native Jack Cooney (Springfield College) for the first run of the game. Pittsfield would put up two more runs in the inning off of a Michael Perales (Amherst) error at third and a base-hit by Mike Gervasi (UMass Amherst).
Julian Gonzalez (Keystone) would relieve Nielsen in the fifth, and would go three innings allowing one unearned run, three walks and three hits.
A ninth inning rally for Worcester was highlighted by RBI singles from Shrewsbury's Christian Siciliano (Southern Maine) and Kenny Mallory Jr (Vanderbilt), but ultimately fell short as the 'Hearts could only strike for two runs, falling 4-2 to Pittsfield.
The Bravehearts' next game will be at home on Tuesday, June 22nd at 6:30 p.m. as the New Britain Bees visit Fitton Field in Worcester for the first time in franchise history.
