JACKSON, Tenn. (May 2, 2013) - The Generals (12-15) fell Thursday night 11-1 to the Jacksonville Suns (15-11) in the second game of the five game series. The Generals allowed a season high 11 runs and 15 hits in the loss.

To start the game, Jacksonville scored at least one run in each of the first three innings. The Suns scored one in the top of the first, three runs in the second and then four in the third to take a 8-0 lead. In their most productive inning, the Suns scored every run with two outs.

In the fifth inning, the Generals cracked the egg after Julio Morban (1-4, R) scored off a throwing error from Suns center fielder Jake Marisnick, 8-1 Suns.

The Suns added insurance in the sixth with a sacrifice fly off the bat off J.T. Realmuto that scored Marisnick. Halfway through six, the Suns led 9-1.

Offensively, the Generals were led by second basemen Brad Miller (2-3, BB). Generals first basemen Steven Proscia (1-3) extended his hitting streak to eight games which tied John Hicks' streak for a season high.

With one of the strangest pitching lines recorded, Generals starter Brett Shankin (L, 1-1, 3.0,9,8,1,1,2,1) only gave up one earned run, the other seven runs were unearned. Moises Hernandez (2.2,2,1,1,2,1) came in to relieve Shankin and then Steven Kohlscheen (2.1,1,0,0,0,1,0) relieved Hernandez. Nick Hill (1.0,3,2,2,1,1,0) made an appearance on the mound in the ninth for the Generals.

For the Suns, Jay Jackson (1-0) tossed seven innings, allowing only four hits, one run which was unearned and struck out four batters.

The Generals and Jacksonville Suns will play game three of the five game series Friday at 7:05 p.m. at the Ballpark. Left-hander Roenis Elias (1-2, 2.93) will take the mound for the Generals and RHP Matt Neil (0-2, 4.79) will start for the Suns.
