Suns Name McGuire General Manager

PITTSFIELD, MA- The Goldklang Group is pleased to announce that Kevin McGuire has been promoted to General Manager of the Pittsfield Suns. McGuire ascends to the role after spending the 2012 season as the Suns Assistant General Manager, where he handled most of the club's daily operations.

McGuire has been a member of the Goldklang Group since 2010. His career began with the Hudson Valley Renegades (New York Penn League) as a promotions intern, where he rose quickly to the role of Director of Promotions and Entertainment for the 2011 season. With the Renegades, McGuire was in charge of all aspects of the club's entertainment. McGuire's time with the Renegades gave him the opportunity to acclimate himself to the Group's brand of family fun and entertainment, as well as gain an appreciation for the importance of a franchise's role as a strong community partner.

McGuire said of the recent promotion, "I am honored that the Goldklang group has bestowed this great opportunity on me. Having been involved with professional baseball for most of my life I have always looked up to the Goldklang Group for being on the cutting edge of this industry. To now lead one of their franchises is a dream come true." He went on to say, " I look forward to building on the work that we started here in Pittsfield last year, and continuing the renaissance of baseball in this historic market."

Jeff Goldklang, Managing Director of the Goldklang Group and principal owner of the Suns said, "There's nobody better suited for this role than Kevin. The strides we made in year one were largely attributable to Kevin and his staff, and we can't wait to see what year two may bring.
