Pittsfield Suns News Release
The Pittsfield Suns (9-9) dropped a tough one on the road to the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (5-11); losing 9-7 after coming back and taking the lead in the seventh.
The Suns had fallen behind 3-1 but had been threatening to score more all game. They finally broke through in the top of the seventh inning with six runs to take the lead 7-3. The Suns rally was keyed by two, two-run singles by Steve Dill (Harvard) and John Kinne (Columbia University).
The Suns were unable to maintain the lead though and allowed six unanswered runs in the eighth and ninth innings topped off by the walk-off home run by the Dirt Dawgs.
The Suns play again Wednesday, July 3rd against the North Shore Navigators on the road.
