
Sundogs Re-Sign Forwards Kolanos, Delforte and Jarman

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - Arizona Sundogs Head Coach and General Manager Marco Pietroniro announced today the team has re-signed forwards Torren Delforte, Kevin Jarman and Mark Kolanos for the upcoming 2010-11 Central Hockey League season.
Kolanos, 25, appeared in 14 games with the Texas Brahmas in 2009-10 netting five goals, five assists and a plus-2 rating.
The 6-foot-1, 186-pound forward last suited up for the Sundogs during the 2008-09 season, finishing fourth on the team in scoring with 46 points (20g/26a) in 60 regular season contests. His nine power-play goals that season were tied for second-most on the team.
"Mark has always played well for us, averaging nearly a point per game in both the regular season and playoffs," said Pietroniro. "I'm sure our fans share our excitement to have Mark back for the 2010-11 season."
During his rookie season in 2007-08, the Calgary, Alberta, native averaged nearly a point per game with 62 points (31g/31a) in 64 appearances with Arizona, finishing second overall in scoring among first year players and earning CHL All-Rookie Team honors. He ranked second in goals and third in points for the Sundogs and was a finalist for CHL Rookie of the Year. Kolanos helped Arizona to the 2008 Ray Miron Presidents' Cup title with 14 points (6g/8a) in 17 playoff games, including a hat trick in a 5-2 win over Colorado in Game 3 of the Presidents' Cup Finals.
Prior to turning pro, Kolanos played four years at the University of New Hampshire (NCAA) registering 10 points (5g/5a) and 26 penalty minutes (PIM) in 49 career appearances.
Delforte, 24, returns for a second season with the Sundogs after registering 41 points (18g/23a) and 14 PIM in 51 regular season contests last season. "Torren has the ability to find the back of the net and is very skilled possessing the puck in the corners," stated Pietroniro. "We're pleased to have him back for a second season and will look to him to continue to produce offensively." The Shortsville, New York, native spent his rookie season with the former New Mexico Scorpions franchise in 2008-09 where averaged nearly a point per game with 23 goals and 33 assists in 63 contests. His 56 points ranked fourth-best among first-year players and he was named a finalist for CHL Rookie of the Year.
Prior to his rookie campaign, Delforte skated for four years at Union College (NCAA) in Schenectady, New York. The 5-foot-11, 175 pound centerman was a teammate of current Sundogs forward Jason Visser during the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons. In 130 collegiate games, Delforte registered 19 goals, 22 assists and 123 PIM.
Jarman, 25, tallied four goals, nine assists and 34 PIM in 36 games with the Mississippi RiverKings last season before being acquired by the Sundogs at the trade deadline. The 6-foot, 197-pound forward went on to add five goals, one assist and 36 PIM in 18 contests with Arizona to close out the year.
"Kevin is a physical forward that works hard at both ends of the ice," added Pietroniro. "We're looking forward to having him for an entire season after acquiring him at the trade deadline last year."
The former fourth round selection (103rd overall) of the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft skated in 45 contests with the now-defunct Youngstown SteelHounds in 2007-08 recording 19 goals, 16 assists and 88 PIM.
The native of Aurora, Ontario was called-up to the American Hockey League's (AHL) Syracuse Crunch for eight games that same season picking up a pair of goals and two PIM.
