Bucks Sign Three to PTO's

Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Tuesday that they have signed forwards Tyler Barr and Nate Gillies, along with goaltender Adam Avramenko to player tryout agreements (PTO). The three will attend Bucks' training camp starting Monday (October 4th).
BARR COMES FROM SPHL
Last year the 22-year-old Barr spent his rookie season with Pensacola (SPHL) as he put up six points (2-46) and picked up 72 PIM's in 46 games for the Ice Flyers.
Prior to turning pro Barr, from North Vancouver, British Columbia, piled up 490 PIM's in 123 career junior games over three seasons in the BCHL and AJHL.
GILLIES RETURNS TO HOCKEY
Gillies last played hockey in the 2003-04 and 2004-05 seasons when he suited up in three games over two seasons for the Surrey Eagles (BCHL).
AVRAMENKO THIRD GOALTENDER ON BUCKS' ROSTER
The 23-year-old Avramenko (pronounced av-RAH-men-koh) spent the last three seasons playing college hockey for Niagara University. Avramenko appeared in 32 games over three seasons with a record of 9-11-6 and two shutouts. He was named to the 2007-08 CHA All-Rookie team.
Avramenko, a native of Strathmore, Alberta, spent two years playing junior hockey in the MJAHL and USHL from 2005-2007. In two seasons Avramenko went a combined 48-29-6 with six shutouts spending time with Woodstock (MJAHL) and Green Bay (USHL).
Avramenko joins Pier Pelletier and Torrie Jung as the three goaltenders on the Bucks training camp roster.
The Bucks have 27 players currently on their training camp roster.
The Bucks will start their ninth CHL season on October 15th with their home opener October 23rd against Rio Grande Valley at Laredo Energy Arena. Season tickets are on sale now for the 2010-11 season. Call 718-BUCK (2825) to place our order now.
