
Sundogs Make Several Roster Moves, Return D-Man Landry To Lineup

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - Arizona Sundogs Head Coach and General Manager Marco Pietroniro announced today several roster moves including the return of longtime Sundogs defenseman Jon Landry to the team's roster. In addition to signing Landry, the team waived defenseman Nick Biondo, placed forward Kim Karsberg on the 14-day I.R. and traded the rights to former Sundogs forward Karl Sellan to the expansion Missouri Mavericks in exchange for future considerations.
Landry, 26, has appeared in 165 regular season games with Arizona over three seasons prior to the 2009-10 campaign, registering 98 points (27g/71a) and 174 penalty minutes (PIM). The 6-foot-3, 220-pound d-man has also skated in 31 playoff contests with the Sundogs, adding three goals, six assists and 18 PIM. His 196 games played rank third-most all-time in Sundogs franchise history behind Chris Bartolone (222) and Sellan (213).
The Montreal, Quebec, native has never finished with a minus rating in three seasons with Arizona, recording plus-3, plus-21 and plus-6 ratings with the Club for a CHL career plus-30 mark.
Landry appeared in two American Hockey League (AHL) contests with the AHL's Portland Pirates in 2005-06 after a four-year career at Bowdoin College (NCAA) and skated in two ECHL games with the Augusta Lynx in 2006-07 prior to joining the Sundogs during their inaugural season.
Biondo, 24, appeared in two games with the Sundogs to start the season, tallying four shots and a minus-2 rating.
The Parma, Ohio, native skated for four seasons at Ohio State University prior to joining the Sundogs. In 68 collegiate contests, Biondo notched five goals, nine assists and 63 PIM. During his junior year in 2007-08, the 5-foot-9, 185-pound forward established career-bests with four goals, six assists, ten points and 26 PIM.
Prior to his four-year career with the Buckeyes, Biondo skated for four seasons in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) with the Cleveland Barons, Soo Indians and Bozeman IceDogs, collecting 141 points (55g/86a) and 567 PIM in 270 career junior contests.
Sellan, 24, leaves the Sundogs franchise as the all-time leader in penalty minutes (845), goals (79), power play goals (37) and game-winning goals (10) and ranks second in games played (213).
In 182 regular season games over three seasons with the Sundogs, Sellan registered 124 points (73g/51a) and 784 penalty minutes (PIM). In 31 career playoff contests, the Montreal, Quebec, native added nine points (6g/3a) and 61 PIM. During the 2008-09 campaign, 5-foot-11, 200-pound forward collected a Sundogs single-season record 401 PIM, eclipsing his previous single-season record of 231 set during the 2007-08 season.
