Sundogs Join Local School's Walk-A-Thon

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs are joining the efforts to raise funds for Prescott Valley's Liberty Traditional School.

The team's mascot, Burnie, paid a visit on Thursday as Liberty students were participating in an outdoor Walk-A-Thon to raise money for new projectors in each of the school's classrooms. Liberty Traditional School houses more than 700 students ranging from kindergarten to 8th Grade. Students received pledges for the number of laps they could walk on the school's track.

Burnie joined the students from the kindergarten, first grade, and second grade classes of the school for their walks.

Over $12,000 was raised by the school from their Walk-A-Thon efforts.

The Arizona Sundogs are the Central Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes. Their sixth season is brought to you by Cliff Castle Casino-Hotel. The year begins on October 21st when the Sundogs host the Laredo Bucks. The Sundogs will also host the 2012 CHL All-Star Game in January.
