Mallards Open with Fan Fest, KISS Tribute Band October 22

MOLINE, Ill. (September 29, 2011) - The Quad City Mallards of the "AA" Central Hockey League today announced the team will raise the curtain on the 2011-12 season on Saturday, October 22 with an outdoor Fan Fest headlined by KISS tribute band Strutter prior to the Mallards' season opener against the Rapid City Rush at the i wireless Center.

Fan Fest will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the i wireless Center parking lot to set the stage for the Mallards' return to the ice at 7:05 p.m. Admission to the concert is free with the purchase of a ticket to the Mallards' opener.

Mallards coach and general manager David Bell will appear at Fan Fest before leading the Flock into regular season action for the first time later that evening. In addition, Mo Mallard, the team's ever-popular mascot, will be on hand to rock out and mingle with fans during Fan Fest.

Fan Fest will also feature kids' games and activities, food, beer and soft drinks, Mallards raffle prizes and more. In addition, all fans attending the opener will receive free Mallards peel-and-re-stick 2011-12 schedules.

"Fan Fest is a great way to kick things off and welcome the fans of the Quad Cities back for another season of Mallards hockey," said Mallards vice president of sales and marketing Brad Hoffman. "We'll be able to provide something for just about everyone- from kids and families to the most hardcore fans of the Flock."

The October 22 opener marks the start of the Mallards' second CHL campaign. The Mallards' 2011-12 schedule features 33 home games, including 25 weekend dates. 2011-12 season tickets are now on sale- season ticket holders receive significant savings and a host of exclusive benefits. Single game tickets are also available at the i wireless Center box office, at Ticketmaster outlets, through www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and on game days other than Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period. On Sundays on which the Mallards play at home the ticket office will be open from 1:00 p.m. until the start of the second period. Individual game tickets will be available for $12 in the upper level and $17 in the lower level.
