PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - On Tuesday, the Arizona Sundogs joined staff members from the Prescott location Officemax as part of the company's "Day Made Better" event, which provides new school supplies to a selected area school.
This year's selection was Del Rio Elementary in Chino Valley, Arizona.
Over $16,000 in school supplies were delivered to Del Rio Elementary, including a special donation to first grade teacher, Deborah Kronz. Kronz was specifically selected and given over a year's worth of school supplies for her first grade class, plus a new printer, desk chair, digital camera, label machine, and pencil sharpener for her classroom.
$2,500 of the total donations came from Officemax, while more than $14,000 came from customer donations at the store.
Sundogs mascot, Burnie, also presented a leather-bound notepad to Kronz with the 2012 CHL All-Star Game logo on the front for her work as a local teacher.
Tuesday's event marks the second straight year the Sundogs have teamed up with the Prescott area Officemax as part of their "Day Made Better" promotion for a local school.
