Gilmore Joins Mallards on Tryout Agreement

MOLINE, Ill. (October 5, 2011) - The Quad City Mallards of the "AA" Central Hockey League today announced they have signed defenseman Tyler Gilmore to a tryout agreement. Per team policy, no contract terms were announced.

"Tyler is a young, puck moving defenseman who is excited about this opportunity," said Mallards coach and general manager David Bell. "I am looking forward to seeing what he can show us on the ice when camp starts."

Gilmore, 21, last season helped propel College of the Canyons to the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division III title. The 5' 8", 175-pound, Valencia, California, native played a single season with the Cougars after spending the 2009-10 campaign with the Bay State Breakers of the Eastern Junior Hockey League.

Gilmore joins Obi Aduba, Jesse Biduke, Jared Boyer Jared Brown, Justin Chwedoruk, Peter Drikos, Sean Flanagan, Brad Fogal, Eric Giosa, Joel Gasper, Jason Kostadine, Martin Kubaliak, Karl Linden, Brett Liscomb, Shane Lovdahl, Brandon Marino, David McKee, Darren McMillan, Nick Niedert, Bobby Preece, Tyler Sheldrake, Billy Siers, A.J. Simone, John Snowden and Quinn Waller to bring the number of players on the Mallards' preseason roster to 26. That group is set to hit the ice at the i wireless Center for the first time when the Mallards open training camp next Monday.

The Mallards will open their second CHL regular season on home ice on Saturday night, October 22 at 7:05 p.m. against the Rapid City Rush. The Flock's 2011-12 schedule features 33 home games, including 25 weekend dates. 2011-12 season tickets are now on sale- season ticket holders receive significant savings and a host of exclusive benefits. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period. Individual game tickets are available for $12 in the upper level and $17 in the lower level.
