
Sundogs Fall to Americans, 7-1

Arizona Sundogs News Release
Prescott Valley, AZ - The Arizona Sundogs took a tough lose Friday night against the Allen Americans when they lost 7-1 at Tim's Toyota Center.
Both teams came out tonight with an axe to grind and a win that was vital to their current league standings. 92 penalty minutes were issued during the 60 minutes of play and three game misconducts were handed down. Mario Larocque, David Brown and Gord Burnett all with the Sundogs received match penalty majors and Garrett Clarke from Allen also received a game misconduct.
The Sundogs outshot the Americans tonight 27-25 but Allen was able to hang on to their lead early in the first when Brett Skinner scored with a wrister off the crease. Five minutes later the Americans scored their second goal registered by Darryl Bootland.
Arizona's Mikael Bedard was able to put the Sundogs on the scoreboard with one goal, halfway into the second period with assists from Chad Langlais and Ron Meyers. The Americans', Bootland collected two goals and two assists and Scotty Howes had one goal and four assists. Allen was 3-9 on the power play tonight while Arizona was 1-7.
The two teams meet again tomorrow when they finish their three-game series. Arizona falls to third in the league standings tied with Bloomington and three points behind the Americans. The Sundogs will be back on the ice tomorrow ready to pick up another point.
