Arizona Sundogs News Release
PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs Professional Hockey Club today made several announcements, including a one-year deal plus options with Grenax Broadcasting's 96.7 The Wolf to broadcast all 64 Arizona Sundogs games, the addition of play-by-play announcer Robbie Incmikoski to the Arizona Sundogs staff, and additional player signings to the 2006-07 Club roster.
As outlined by the partnership, 96.7 The Wolf will broadcast all regular-season and subsequent post-season games during the 2006-07 season.
"We are pleased to announce this partnership, especially with 96.7 The Wolf," said Sundogs President and Managing Director Hayne Ellis. "The Wolf is one of the premier stations in Northern Arizona with a listenership that stretches across the entire region. For us to reach an agreement with 96.7 The Wolf to broadcast all Arizona Sundogs games, both home and away, is a win-win situation for both organizations. We're convinced that our relationship will continue long after the conclusion of our first season."
In conjunction with the announcement of the broadcast partner, the Club introduced play-by-play announcer Robby Incmikoski, the new voice of the Arizona Sundogs.
"Despite his young age, Robby comes to the Sundogs with an array of experience in both radio and professional sports, qualities difficult to find in younger broadcasters," added Ellis. "His enthusiasm for and knowledge of the game of hockey were determining factors in bringing him on board."
Incmikoski comes to the Sundogs from the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes radio broadcast team, where he served as the radio pre- and post-game host in addition to hosting the weekly hockey magazine show, Coyotes Weekly.
In conjunction with the Coyotes season, Incmikoski also served as the television sideline reporter and B2 internet play-by-play broadcaster for the National Lacrosse League's Arizona Sting.
His previous experience includes serving as the in-arena host for the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League, Trenton Titans of the East Coast Hockey League, and the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League.
Also announced during the press conference was the addition of two players, veteran forward Tab Lardner and rookie Clement Arsenault, to the Sundogs Inaugural Season roster by Head Coach/General Manager Marco Pietroniro.
"Tab is a durable player, having not missed a game in his entire pro hockey career, with the potential to score every time he steps on the ice," said Pietroniro. "His past five seasons have been in the CHL, so he knows the league very well and will be able to share his experience with our younger players."
Lardner, 27, has spent all five years of his professional career in the Central Hockey League, having stops in Austin, now defunct-Topeka, and most recently Wichita. In his 316 regular-season CHL games, Lardner has notched 99 goals and 119 assists for a total of 218 points. In 35 CHL playoff games, he has accumulated 11 goals and helping out on 4 more for 15 total points.
Prior to his professional career, Lardner played Division 1 college hockey at Michigan Tech University, appearing in 141 regular-season games, scoring 21 goals and assisting on 34 more.
The 24-year-old Arsenault has played his past three seasons at the University of Prince Edward Island of Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS). In his 79 games with UPEI, he tallied 14 goals, 20 assists, 34 points, and 36 penalty minutes. Before his stint at the University of Prince Edward Island, Arsenault spent two seasons with the Charlottetown Abbies of the Maritime Junior 'A' Hockey League totaling 38 goals, 43 assists, 81 points, and 29 penalty minutes in 49 games during the 2002-03 season.
Pietroniro had this to say about the addition of Arsenault: "Clement is a well-rounded addition to our Club. His knowledge of the game and ability to see the ice will fit very well into the system that we're working to build and implement."
