March 24, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Texas Tycoons News Release
Dallas, TX. The third annual Texas Summer Music Conference: ABA Sports & Entertaiment Celebrity Weekend will be held July 29-31. This star-studded weekend will also include an ABA Job Fair, Free Agent Tryout Camp, ABA Owner's Meeting and Charity Basketball Game, all hosted by the Texas Tycoons: Dallas-Fort Worth's Pro Basketball Team.
The Texas Summer Music Conference is the top urban music conference in the country. The conference is designed to provide information and direction to aspiring musicians, hairstylists, fashion designers, songwriters, producers, filmmakers, vocalists, actors, models and anyone else interested in the hair, fashion or entertainment industry.
The ABA is a professional league experiencing exponential growth (approx 70 teams to play in the 2005-2006 season). The new ABA provides exciting, high-quality and affordable professional basketball. Teams are composed of former NBA players and draft picks, top college players and top international players. The ABA is known for quality basketball and entertainment at affordable prices. Bringing these two together will create exposure, exciting and opportunity for years to come.
The weekend will be an entertaining and educational bonding experience for the ABA as a whole and the individual teams. Potential players will be able to participate in a tryout or attend a job fair. The Heads! Up Foundation will host a celebrite basketball game which includes All-Star players from the 2004-2005 season.
The conference will be at the Omni Dallas Hotel at Park West, located at 1590 Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway, Dallas. Hotel rooms are available at a discounted rate of $89 a night until May 31, early registration deadline. To RSVP or for more information, call 817-4-tycoon, 214 749 0134 or visit www.texassummermusicconference.com , www.abalive.com or www.txtycoons.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
