Strykers Split with Cane Cutters; Host Bark In The Park This Saturday

Woodlands Strykers News Release


The Woodlands Strykers split their two games with the Cane Cutters. The Cane Cutter took game one 7-3 and the Strykers took game two 4-1. The teams will return home this Saturday for two games against the Cane Cutters. Saturday will also be Bark In The Park at the game.

Game 1

Bobby Schuman would lead the game off with a double and then would go to third on a Kevin Santana single. Dirk Masters would hit a single that would score Schuman. The second run was scored by Masters who got on with a single. Masters scored on a Daniel Homann double. In the fifth inning, Schuman would walk, then move to second on a Dalton Perry single. Schuman would wind up scoring on a Santana single.

Kael Jones pitched 4.1 innings and struck out a batter. Cody Myrick pitch one third of an inning before Greg Jakusik pitched the final inning and gave up no runs or hits and struck out a batter.

Game 2

In the fourth inning, Dalton Perry would single and then move to second and third on a wild pitch. He would score on a Kevin Santana groundout. In the fifth inning, Connor Kalisky and Kael Jones would single. Schuman would single that scored Kalisky. Jones would score on a Santana single. Schuman would score the final run on a Masters double.

Matt Danton went the distance on the mound going seven innings and striking out seven batters while giving up one run and five hits.

The teams returns home this weekend(Saturday and Sunday). Bark In The Park will take place Saturday. Fans are encouraged to bring their dogs to the game.
