
Strongs' 3 Point Play Lifts Storm over Rainmen

(Halifax, NS) It was an early start to the day for the Island STORM as they hit the road at 5am Friday morning headed for Halifax for a very rare 10:30am tip at ScotiaBank Centre against the Rainmen.
Point guard Myron Strong's 3 point play with 15 seconds left in the game was the difference as the STORM came up with a 93-91 win. Strong and Brandon Robinson lead the STORM attack with 12 each while Nick Evans scored 11 to go with 8 rebounds. Johnny Mayhanne, who also had a big 3 point play with under a minute to go in the game, scored 9 while Renardo Sidney had 8. In fact, 10 STORM players had at least 6 points in the game. The STORM carried a 41-32 lead into the locker room at halftime and was ahead by 5 after 3 quarters.
Tyrone Watson was the top point producer for the Rainmen with a game high 17 points.
The STORM now head to Montague High School this Sunday afternoon for an inter-squad game. The day starts a 1 pm when the Junior STORM program plays an inter-squad game and then the STORM hit the court. All proceeds from this event goes toward athletics at Montague High School.
The Island STORM have their home opener coming up this coming Thursday at Eastlink Centre at 7pm. Season tickets and single game tickets continue to be on sale at the Box Office.
